“For me, World AIDS Day is a day to remember my peers who have passed away from HIV. Back home, we do marches on this day with those who work in this field, including government officers and donors. Marches start with HIV messages and end with speeches delivered by government officers, donors, and people living with HIV.

Solidarity is also important in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Showing solidarity to those who have been working in this field to bring changes is important. Solidarity makes you feel like you are not alone in this fight against HIV. For me, solidarity connects me with peers who became my chosen family.

We need to stand up for each other when needed, show love and care through actions, and build trust. Humanity is important as well. When we have humanity, we respect each other, we show each other compassion, and let go of judgements."
