This year was the most confusing year of my life. As the year comes to a close and we commemorate World AIDS Day I find myself reflecting.

There is so much I wanted to do for this year’s WAD. Covid happened. A lot of things in my life happened. I felt like a failure not being able to show up for my community but my community showed up for me. As I write this from my hospital bed where no visitors are allowed, I have flowers around, chocolates, and tons of messages on my phone. My community is telling me “it’s okay to rest. We got you”.

Love to all who all this World AIDS Day but also a reminder that beyond this day we must carry out the mission of shared responsibility and global solidarity.
Stay safe.
